In Northern Uganda, diseases like malaria claim the lives of innocent children far too often. These deaths are not the result of complex diseases, but rather the absence of basic healthcare services. The story of Grace, a second-grade teacher, and her daughter, Miriam, paints a devastating picture of the urgent need for medical clinics in this region.
A Tragic, Preventable Loss
Grace, like many parents in Northern Uganda, works tirelessly to provide for her family and serve her community. As a teacher, she has dedicated her life to helping children grow and learn. But when her own daughter, Miriam, fell ill with malaria, Grace found herself helpless. These clinics will be equipped with essential medicines like malaria pills, antibiotics, and vaccines—supplies that can prevent countless unnecessary deaths. Each clinic will be staffed with a nurse throughout the week, with a doctor rotating between clinics one day a week. This model ensures that even the most remote communities have access to professional healthcare services.
Our goal is simple: to prevent tragedies like Miriam’s from ever happening again.
