Frequently Asked Questions
How does my donation help?
Every dollar you donate goes directly to one of our programs: building water wells, supporting healthcare clinics, or funding education for children. The impact of your donation is tangible and immediate.
Is my donation tax-deductible?
Yes, Amigos Internacionales is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. All donations are tax-deductible.
Why Water Wells, Healthcare, and Education?
At Amigos Internacionales, we focus on three critical pillars: clean water, healthcare, and education. These elements are essential for the sustainable development of any community. Without clean water, people suffer from disease and poverty. Without healthcare, preventable diseases claim lives. And without education, future generations are denied opportunities for growth and prosperity. By donating to Amigos, you are directly supporting these foundational pillars of community development in Uganda and Tanzania.
Why Uganda and Tanzania?
Uganda and Tanzania are two of the most underdeveloped countries in East Africa, facing critical challenges in healthcare, education, and water access. By focusing our efforts on these regions, we are able to make a significant, lasting impact. Your donation helps us provide the resources necessary to build healthier, educated, and more self-sufficient communities in these countries.
Missionpoint FAQs
Welcome to our FAQ page, where we've gathered common questions about our Missionpoint initiative at Amigos International. Our aim is to provide you with insightful answers that reflect our commitment to expanding the Gospel in Africa.
What is Missionpoint?
MissionPoint is Amigos International's strategic initiative to plant 25 new churches across Uganda and Tanzania by 2030, bringing the love of Christ to some of the world's most underserved communities. Each MissionPoint is a holistic ministry hub — not just a church, but a center for education, clean water, medical care, and lasting transformation. It is faith in action, rooted in over 55 years of Amigos' faithful presence in the field.
How does Missionpoint impact the communities it serves?
The results speak for themselves: in 2025 alone, 9,097 people came to know the Lord across our active MissionPoints — an average of more than 200 lives changed per location every year. Medical outreach camps alone accounted for 2,453 of those decisions for Christ. Beyond spiritual transformation, communities gain access to clean water, schools, trauma healing, and life skills — building futures that last.
What are the core activities of Missionpoint?
Every MissionPoint is built around a core set of transformational activities: drilling water wells, establishing local churches, building schools, running medical camps, offering trauma ministry, teaching life skills classes, and conducting community outreach programs. These aren't separate projects — they work together to bring wholeness to every person we serve. This integrated approach is what makes each MissionPoint a genuine community transformation.
How can I get involved with Missionpoint?
There are many ways to join this mission — sponsor a child, make a donation, volunteer, or launch your own peer-to-peer or crowdfunding campaign. You can explore all of these options through the Take Action page on our website. Whatever your capacity, there is a place for you in this work.
How does Missionpoint ensure the sustainability of its projects?
Sustainability is built into the model from the very beginning. Each MissionPoint is designed to become a self-sustaining community hub — with a church, school, water well, life skills classroom, and agricultural resources that empower local leaders to carry the work forward. The Ogul Village MissionPoint stands as a proven example of this vision fully realized.
Who can I contact for more information about Missionpoint?
We'd love to connect with you. You can reach us directly at michael@amigosii.org or visit the Contact Us page on our website. No question is too big or too small — we're here to walk you through how you can be part of what God is doing through MissionPoint.
How can my donations be used at Missionpoint?
Your gift directly supports the work happening on the ground right now — water wells, churches, schools, medical camps, and the daily care of vulnerable families in Uganda and Tanzania. We currently have 22 active MissionPoints operating across both countries, all supported by a $2.5 million, five-year commitment running from 2024 through 2029. Every dollar you give is an investment in lasting, Spirit-led transformation.
Are donations to Missionpoint tax-deductible?
Yes. Amigos International is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, incorporated in Texas and recognized by the Federal Government, which means your donation is fully tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. You'll receive the documentation you need for your records, and you can give with confidence knowing your generosity is going toward genuine, accountable field work.
Can I see the impact of Missionpoint's work?
Absolutely. Across our active locations — from Ogul Village and Pawik in Uganda to Chibe, Bubiki, and Kagongwa in Tanzania — lives are being changed every day, and we are committed to sharing those stories with you. In 2025, we saw 9,097 total conversions, schools serving hundreds of students, and communities gaining access to clean water for the first time. We invite you to follow along, get involved, and witness what God is doing.

How many MissionPoints are currently active, and where?
There are currently 22 active MissionPoints spread across Uganda and Tanzania. In Uganda, active communities include Ogul Village, Pawik, Padibe, Odibe, Palabek, Looyo Boo, Burpong, Lamwo, and Pogo — with a focus on both local villagers and South Sudanese refugees in the northern region. In Tanzania, active locations include Chibe, Ihapa, Bubiki, Sayu, Ngunga, Mwamadilanha, Pandagichiza, Sayun, Ngendegese, Old Shinyaga, Kagongwa, and Didia.
What does a completed MissionPoint community look like?
Ogul Village is our clearest picture of what a fully developed MissionPoint becomes: a thriving community with its own church, school, water well, life skills classroom, and farming land — with a medical clinic now in the planning stages. It is proof that when these elements come together under strong local leadership, an entire community is transformed. That is the vision we are working toward at every one of our 22 active locations.
What percentage of my donation goes to the field?
Amigos International is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit committed to financial accountability and transparency. We encourage you to reach out directly at michael@amigosii.org or visit our Contact Us page with any financial transparency questions — we're happy to walk you through our stewardship practices. Yes — volunteer and mission trip opportunities are available, and we would love to have you experience this work firsthand. Visit the Take Action page to explore what's possible, or reach out directly at michael@amigosii.org to discuss trip details and availability.
