It’s a tragic truth that poverty and child sex trafficking are intrinsically linked. Families who are struggling to make ends meet may be more vulnerable to the false promises of traffickers who offer education or job opportunities for their children.

This one is the inspiring story of 14-year-old Shafic. Shafic was raised in the slums of Uganda by his mother, a single parent. Unfortunately, Shafic’s young life was riddled with struggles and darkness. Like many women who live in the slums of Uganda, Shafic’s mother had been working as a prostitute for many years.
