In Latin America

Since 2002, Amigos Internacionales Inc has provided over 1,144 metric tons (2,522,062 pounds) and over 57,200,000 meals to starving children around the world. This effort has been in conjunction with Buckner's Childrens Homes, Buckner International, and USAID. Hundreds of thousands of children and needy mothers have been fed each day in Malawi, Zambia, Peru, Guatemala, Mexico, Honduras and Belize.

We are currently working on a project to provide over eight large containers packed full of food to Guatemala and surrounding countries so that children that need food are nourished.

Please consider making a recurring donation to help make this effort continue!

A new need arose where there were several villages and orphanages along the RioDulce River and Lake Isabell.  There was no road access and Amigos was able to purchase a boat to deliver food to these places inaccessible by land to feed the malnourished children!

Ogul Village Restroration Project

According to the World Health Organization, the El Nino 2023 weather pattern has left 2.8 million people in need of humanitarian assistance in meeting their need for food and other needs. The World Bank states that 75% of the population of Guatemala live below the institutions $2 a day poverty line with half the Guatemalan children suffering from malnutrition. This feeding program is a CRITICAL NEED. According to USAID, In 2016. 50% of the children under 5 years of age will be stunted in growth both physically and emotionally due to lack of access to nutritious foods. This figure is much higher in certain parts of the Western Highlands. Amigos Internacionales has a history of providing over 57 million meals to children over the past 15 years.

We need your help.

Recent Relief Efforts:

Amigos is proud and excited to be part of the disaster relief efforts in the Guatemalan Volcano disaster. Our distribution partners, Buckner International, joined forces with the Guatemalan military at our warehouses to load 15,000 lbs of Harvest Lentil Soup for the relief efforts. This translates to over 350,000 meals for the rural communities affected by the Volcano, whose lives have been severely disrupted.

Amigos urgently needs your assistance! While we were fortunate to have food containers in our warehouse in Guatemala City, we still have 4 containers to ship! This amounts to over 4.6 million meals that will go towards feeding hungry children, expectant mothers, and the elderly who are in desperate need of help. You have the power to make a difference.
