Bethel Smile

   Restoring smiles, restoring hope.

Give a Smile

Why Bethel...

Bethel means House of God—a place of encounter, healing, and transformation.

We chose this name because every restored smile is more than dental care. It is a moment of hope, dignity, and renewal. Through the Bethel Smile Program, part of Amigos Internacionales, we provide free dental treatment to vulnerable communities in East Africa. Each smile restored brings relief from pain, restores confidence, and reflects God’s presence at work. Bethel is not only a word from Scripture. It is a living promise: a house of healing where compassion meets suffering and lives are made new.

Health is Hope for the Future: Donate for Cleft Lip Surgery in Uganda

Challenge

Across rural Uganda, families struggle because there is little or no access to clinics or hospitals. Without support, many children and mothers suffer from preventable diseases. When you donate to provide medical care in Uganda villages, you help bridge this gap and ensure families receive the healing they desperately need.

Solution

Amigos operates faith-based charity medical clinics donation programs that bring care directly to villages. Through mobile clinics, eye camps, and ongoing training for local health workers, we deliver not only medicine but also long-term solutions. This model strengthens communities and ensures that care continues after our teams leave.

Faces of Courage, Futures of Hope

Every child with a cleft is brave. Your gift gives them the future they deserve.

Ojok was born on August 8, 2025, with a bilateral cleft lip, a highly unusual double cleft lip condition that presented significant challenges for his feeding and overall well-being. His mother, Akello Concy, a 30-year-old peasant farmer, faced this heart-wrenching situation with unwavering determination and deep love for her son. As the third child in the family, Ojok’s condition heightened their struggles, especially when Akello's breast milk dried up.

This unfortunate turn of events forced them to rely on a costly formula, putting immense strain on their already limited finances. Feeding Ojok became a daily struggle; milk often spilled from his mouth, and he would tire easily, making every meal a battle. Yet, Akello's fierce love propelled her to seek medical assistance and guidance on how to care for her son effectively.

With the right support and treatment, they clung to the hope for a brighter future. Ojok's story is a powerful testament to the challenges faced by children with cleft lips and the vital role of compassion, support, and access to healthcare in transforming their lives. It serves as a reminder of the resilience of the human spirit and the importance of community and resources in ensuring that no child faces these struggles alone.
