Every child deserves the opportunity to learn. Yet in many of the villages where Amigos serves, children walk miles to school—or never attend at all.
Through the MissionPoint model, Amigos builds Christ-centered schools that provide education, clean water, hope, and a pathway out of poverty for generations.
The flagship of the MissionPoint model. Founded in 2015 as CIRVANT Little Acorns by Ugandan educator Justine Kidega, acquired by Amigos in July 2020 and renamed Open Hands. The Ogul campus now runs a full nursery-through-primary program, sits on a working borehole drilled in 2020, shares the land with Agape Baptist Church, and hosts a life-skills apiary. Every other Amigos school is being built to this pattern.
Harvest of Hope Nursery and Primary School serves families in Pawich, alongside a growing MissionPoint church led by Pastor Martin. In Patrick Kibwota's own words, it is "more or less like Open Hands in Ogul" — the same layered model of church, water, school, and life skills, being built one phase at a time. The school badge and identity were finalized in 2024 and the campus continues to add classroom capacity.
Our first MissionPoint school outside Uganda. In partnership with New Harvest Fellowship Church, led by Pastor Jacob Bonny, Far Vision serves roughly 110 preschool pupils — mostly orphans and vulnerable children — across baby, middle, and top classes. A dedicated eight-person staff runs the school year-round. Our goal is not just to educate, but to grow wisdom that leads to service.
At Burpong, sixteen acres were given by families who believed education could change their children's future. Amigos has already drilled the water well, planted Dila Baptist Church under Pastor Patrick, and completed the first Providence School classroom block with a blue metal roof. Phase 2 — a second classroom block — is under construction right now. Between January and May 2026, more than 700 people at Burpong made professions of faith. The next dollar becomes the next brick.
Joyful Harvest is the school planned for Pogo, on the same MissionPoint campus as Acema Baptist Church under Pastor Isaac. In June 2026 Amigos hosted the first Leadership Training ever held at Acema — a formal step toward the same Ogul-style expansion of church, water, and school. The village is ready. The land is ready. The next school is ready to begin.
Thirteen acres and an existing school compound are being given to Amigos this week. The school opened its term with 247 children and had collapsed to about 32 after payroll failed — more than 70 preschoolers turned away at the gate. Patrick Kibwota, Pastor Okulu Santo, and Dr. Paul Mulyamboga walked the land together on June 27, 2026. Reopening starts this term.
