Chapter One · The Moment We Walked In

From 247 Learners to 32

When our team walked onto the Orua campus in Korobar Village in June, we found a school that had opened the term with 247 children — and had collapsed to about 32 after payroll failed. More than 70 nursery-age children had already been turned away at the gate.

The buildings were still standing. The chalkboard still held the class rosters. The benches were still in the rooms. Everything the school needed to keep running was in place except the money to pay the teachers and the leadership to hold the community

Chapter Two · The Land

10.396 Acres, Formally Handed to Amigos

Two families originally gave this land to the community so a school could exist. On July 9, 2026, the community completed the handover of that land — 10.396 acres, with the school still standing on it — to Agape Baptist Church – Korobar / Amigos Internacionales. Patrick Kibwota, Okulu Santo, and Kibwola Christopher signed for Amigos-side continuity. LC1 Chairperson Ouma Geoffrey added local-government authority.

This is the MissionPoint model in action: a qualified land donation, not a land purchase. The same pattern that turned a piece of land in Ogul into Open Hands Academy is now unfolding in Korobar — only this time, with the school already built and the children already there.

  • Three-classroom masonry block with office and store room.
  • Two grass-thatched classroom houses for additional teaching space.
  • Working borehole on the campus — clean water is already flowing.
  • Five teacher huts and drainable latrines already in place.
  • Football field, wild trees, and expansion land for phase-two buildings.
Chapter Three · The Team on Site

On the Ground with the Community

Our senior field, church, and medical leaders were all on the ground together at Orua. This is not a proposal. It is already a place where our people work.

Patrick Kibwota, our African Director of Operations, walked the property and led the land-transfer conversation from first meeting to signed handover. Pastor Okulu Santo, our local MissionPoint leader in Nwoya District, opened the door to the community and sits in the middle of every relationship that made this donation possible. Dr. Paul Mulyamboga, our Director of Medical Services and head of Doctors on Mission, assessed the health of the children and the community around the campus.

Three directors. One school. One rescue.

Chapter Four · Where We Are Now

Land Secured. School Transition Underway.

The land is in our hands. The rescue is now about restoring the school and standing the ministry up alongside it.

Payroll and teachers. Payroll gaps left teachers unpaid and drove enrollment down to about 32. Restoring monthly payroll (roughly UGX 2.5 million per month for the primary school) is the fastest path to bringing children back.

Nursery restart. More than 70 nursery-age children were sent home in 2026. Reopening the nursery section — after a construction-repair review — is the next enrollment decision.

Operating build-out toward 2027. The site is moving from land handover into full operating readiness across payroll, staffing, and campus repairs, with a target of full operation in 2027.

Medical camp KOR-2026-08. A general medical and screening camp is tentatively scheduled at Korobar for August 28–30, 2026 as the Step 7 culmination camp at this MissionPoint.

The land is secured. Now we build the school back.
